Experience the diverse landscapes and the most interesting places in the Lake District. An active trip that goes from the volcanoes, lakes and rivers to the Pacific coast. Every day you will enjoy this unique nature and do different activities as kayaking, hiking, birdwatching, interacting with local people and their culture.

DAY 1: KAYAKING AND HIKING AT N.P. VICENTE PÉREZ ROSALES

A full day in nature! Morning kayaking at the Lake Llanquihue and in the afternoon a soft hiking of 3 hours through the slopes of the Osorno Volcano and the temperate rain forest. Visit to the Petrohué Rapids.

Overnight at Puerto Varas.

DAY 2: BIRDING DAY AT QUENUIR WETLANDS AND RIVER MAULLÍN

One of the best places for birding in Chile! Ferry navigation through the mouth of the River Maullín and a walking through different sections of the wetland area. Migratory birds, passerines and pelagics.

Overnight in Ancud, Chiloé.

DAY 3: PUÑIHUIL BAY, CAULÍN AND ANCUD

An adventure in the north part of Chiloé Island, that begins early in the morning, with a walking tour of the village of Ancud and then a visiting to Caulín bay, a Bird’s Sanctuary with a lot of coastal and land birds. After that we will navigate to see the Penguin Colony in Puñihuil, with two species of penguins that have their breeding spring-summer colony in the island: the Magellanic and the Humboldt penguins.

Overnight at Castro.

DAY 4: CULTURAL HERITAGE AND THE ARCHITECTURE OF CHILOÉ

City Tour Castro, including Palafitos and the Local Markets.

Visit to the churches of Castro, Vilupulli, Chonchi, Nercón, Achao, Quinchao, Curaco de Vélez and Dalcahue, most of them Unesco sites.

Visiting to a Mapuche Traditional Medical Center, where the natives use the ancient medicine and serve the local community.

Overnight in Castro.

DAY 5: NATIONAL PARK CHILOÉ. HIKING AND NATURE

Visiting to the National Park Chiloé. A wonderful oasis of pure nature in the shore of the Pacific Ocean. A trip back on time to see what Charles Darwin saw in the island when he explore it.

DAY 6: WILDLIFE AND LANDSCAPES AT CHEPU RIVER

Navigation through the river and the sunken forest to reach the Pacific Ocean.
Birding at Laguna Coluco.
Walking along the coast of the mouth of the River Chepu.
Interact with a local family of Chiloé: Home hosted “Curanto”.
Return to the mainland.

Overnight in Puerto Varas.
