This excursion covers two important bird environments of this area: the Maullín river and the sea coast in the first part of the “Carretera austral”.
Early in the morning we will take a boat to navigate a part of the Maullín river, a privileged ambient for birdwatching, with many birds nesting along the shore and between the sunken forest of Myrtle trees. The sailing is slow to permit the recognition of the species and the photography.
The second part of the tour will be in the coast area a few kilometers south from Puerto Montt, with short walkings on small bays and beaches that hold an interesting variety of coastal and land birds, and also different kinds of ducks and swans.
The whole excursion is planned as an active experience with the environment; with time enough for observation, registration and enjoyment of nature.
